Privacy policy
Last updated: 1 October 2026
Elephantoo ("we", "us") runs elephantoo.com, a free website for learning programming. This policy explains what information is used when you visit the site and the choices you have.
Information stored on your device#
Elephantoo does not require an account. To remember your lesson progress, quiz scores and light/dark theme preference, we save small pieces of data in your browser's localStorage. This progress data itself stays on your device and is not sent to us. You can erase it at any time by clearing your browser's site data for elephantoo.com (or using "Reset progress" on a course page).
Information we collect#
We do not ask for your name, email address or any other personal details to use the site. If you email us at elephantoo2907@gmail.com, we receive your email address and message and use them only to reply.
Our hosting provider (Google Firebase Hosting) may automatically process standard technical data such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, in order to deliver the site securely. See Google's privacy policy.
Analytics (Google Analytics / Firebase)#
To understand how the site is used and make the lessons better, we use Google Analytics for Firebase (Google Analytics 4), provided by Google LLC. When you visit elephantoo.com, Google Analytics sets first-party cookies (such as _ga and _ga_*) and may store a small identifier in your browser's IndexedDB, so it can tell visits apart.
The data collected is anonymous usage data, for example: the pages you view, which lessons and courses you start or complete, whether quiz answers were right or wrong, search terms typed into the site search, theme changes and clicks on our social links, together with general technical information such as browser and device type, screen size, approximate location (country/city, derived from your IP address) and referring website. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store full IP addresses. We do not send your name, email address or any other directly identifying information to Google Analytics, and we do not use it to build advertising profiles.
- You can learn how Google uses this data at How Google uses information from sites that use its services.
- You can block analytics cookies in your browser settings, use a content blocker, or install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Advertising and cookies#
Elephantoo is free, and we use advertising to support it. We use Google AdSense, an advertising service provided by Google LLC; the AdSense script is loaded on our pages. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
- You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
- You can learn more at How Google uses information from sites that use its services and How Google uses cookies in advertising.
- You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at www.aboutads.info.
Where required by law (for example in the EEA, UK and Switzerland), ads will only be personalised after you give consent through a consent message.
Links to other sites#
Our lessons and footer link to other websites, such as Instagram and Facebook. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of those sites.
Children#
Elephantoo is suitable for learners of all ages, but we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date below will always show the latest version.
